Do work that matters

The Incident Commander is responsible for managing and coordinating the response to major incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and swift resolution. This role requires a deep understanding of DevSecOps principles to integrate security practices into the incident management process, ensuring that security is a core component of all incident responses.

To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include:

  • Incident Management: Lead the response to major incidents, coordinating with various teams to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.

  • DevSecOps Integration: Implement and advocate for DevSecOps practices within the incident management process, ensuring that security is integrated into every stage of incident response.

  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact during major incidents, providing clear and timely updates to stakeholders, including senior management and affected business units.

  • Post-Incident Review: contribute to post-mortems to identify root causes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure that findings are documented and shared with relevant teams.

  • Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to team members on incident management best practices and DevSecOps principles. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, security, and business teams to develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures. Ensure that all teams are prepared to respond effectively to incidents.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor incident trends and metrics to identify patterns and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to senior management on incident response performance and key metrics.

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess the following:

  • Proven experience in incident management, preferably within a DevSecOps environment. Experience in leading major incident responses and coordinating cross-functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices. Proficiency in incident management tools and technologies.
