Within this role, you will work alongside a fantastic team of people, and highly invested managers focused on your career progression.As a Senior Software Engineer for the IB&M Business Optimisation Squad, you will play a pivotal role in automating our business end-to-end using a Python-based state-of-the-art engineering platform and a streamlined continuous integration/deployment pipeline. You will contribute to delivering faster and safer customer outcomes and optimising business processes with data integrations and workflow management tools.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
Have solid hands-on back-end application development experience using Python programming language.
Have solid hands-on experience in workflow automation and infrastructure redevelopment
Pride themselves in developing and rollout test harnesses, frameworks, tools, and infrastructure to enable test automation, CI/CD and code quality
Are comfortable working as team players and happy to take the time to perform peer design/ code reviews applying software reuse principles and developing creative solutions to debt management
Knowledgeable with process methodology and development methodologies (Agile, SDLC, and Iterative)
Are constantly demonstrating coding, design, debugging and problem-solving skills
Have capabilities in coaching and guiding junior team members to further develop their skillset
Are comfortable to collaborate with a nimble team of high-performing engineers to build creative solutions that deliver impactful outcomes for our most complex financial operational and business processes.
Can enable our business to scale through your software engineering skills
Can commit to automating and managing all risks (financial/operational) to ensure business endurance
Pride themselves in problem-solving abilities whilst collaborating with stakeholders on solutions.
Tech skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
Python, SQL, REST API, MongoDB
GitHub
Understanding of monitoring tools and CI/CD pipeline
Web services, REST and API/Service based testing using tools such as POSTMAN and Pact
JIRA, Agile Requirements Designer
Object-Oriented Programming and Abstraction
Design Patterns
