EA – Supporting General Manager

Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.Major Client Group (MCG) sits within the Business Bank. We are a national team which cover a diverse range of businesses across various industries. The MCG team provides dedicated support to customers which have turnover above $150m and exposures typically above $50m. We strive to provide exceptional support to our existing customers and would like to service more and more Australian customers.

Do work that matters

This exciting role offers the opportunity to provide high level administrative support to the General Manager within our Major Client Group, Business Banking team. You will ensure their time is managed effectively by working in partnership with the executive including pre-empting their needs, managing the Executive’s demanding schedule, and act as a key point of contact to ensure smooth day-to-day operations are met.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Diary & Email Management – Oversee a busy schedule, prioritising commitments and ensuring seamless daily operations
  • Event management – Arrange client events & ticketing/functions/offsites/team building events
  • Travel Coordination – Arrange detailed domestic travel itineraries
  • Gatekeeping & Communication – Manage correspondence, filter requests, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Expense management – Accurately tracking, processing, and reporting expenses, ensuring financial compliance
  • Meeting management – Prepare agendas, reports, presentations and arrange meeting room bookings
  • Stakeholder Management – Act as a trusted liaison between the external clients and internal contacts
  • Establish and maintain strong, effective, strategic and appropriate working relationships within business partners, EAs and other stakeholders
  • Risk management – Provide HR support and assist with recruitment requests, staff exits, onboarding / offboarding, and adhering to the Group’s policies and procedures
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the wider team

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Previous EA  experience supporting similar level Executives of a similar size organisation
  • A proactive working style with ability to pre-empt needs and take initiative to get things done
  • Exceptional attention to detail and Superior skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to build relationships, is highly personable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage workflow, priorities, work well under pressure and be flexible
  • High level of pragmatic professionalism – face to face, over the phone and through correspondence
