The Application Engineer participates in the entire software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on evergreen support of existing software solutions requiring significant knowledge of enabled business domain, workflows, and processes.
The Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC) located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications for the position of IT Operations - Application Engineer Successful candidates will join a thriving multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1500 employees delivering business services and solutions across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for applications, ensuring their availability, performance, and reliability required for timely critical enterprise reporting.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration, report generation, and system maintenance.
Collaborate with IT teams to understand business requirements and implement solutions that enhance application functionality. Support acquisitions and divestment activities.
Support internal and external auditing requirements.
Support activities on regular system maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and best practices.
Assist in the design and implementation of new features and enhancements for applications.
Provide training and support to end-users on applications and related tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in application engineering, with a focus on software development and system integration.
Strong understanding of software engineering processes and systems.
Proficiency in data management, including data loading, validation, and transformation.
Experience with system integration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Ability to create and maintain complex reports using various reporting tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT and other departments. This includes providing training and support to end-users.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with RPA/UIPath.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of IT architecture best practices, including cybersecurity and process automation.
Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance requirements, ensuring that systems are secure and meet regulatory standards.
Familiarity with cloud computing and site reliability engineering.
Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, or SQL.
Experience with Azure, C#, SQL, and Ansible.
Knowledge of trading/marketing is a plus.
