Key Responsibilities

  • The Markets Client Onboarding Manager will be responsible for managing the end to end on-boarding process for Markets client and on-boarding activities.
  • Key components of the role will include:
    • Client outreach, including discussion around data requirements, collation.
    • Organising and Chairing client operational and onboarding review meetings
    • Client Due Diligence (CDD/CIP information)
    • Responsible for coordinating across the various Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) teams to ensure client onboarding is completed and client is ready to trade.
    • Review and validate clients documentation and instructions
    • Accountable to ensure that all facilities are set up in accordance with client instructions, this involves working closely with the various operational functions.
    • Ensure trading limits are in place and linked to the required e-platform prior to trading and ensure that the start to end process of onboarding is completed in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for coordinating across the various Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) teams to ensure client offboarding is completed.
    • Responsible for coordinating Conduct meetings with internal stakeholders
    • Ensure regulatory information is obtained and client is compliant

Strategy

  • Participate in the transformation strategy for Markets client onboarding, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and enhanced client experience.
  • Identify key opportunities for process redesign, automation, and digitalization to improve operational outcomes.

Business

Onboarding

  • To be responsible for undertaking Due Diligence requirements to ensure adherence to relevant Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) policies on sub funds of Investor clients working with the Risk Control team to ensure all necessary Compliance risks are properly managed and accurate records diligently maintained. 
    • Client outreach and interaction with Coverage and Sales to gather deal requirements, financial statements and other inputs for performing Customer Identification Program (CIP) due diligence. information collection & verification (depending on product usage predominantly derivatives)
  • Responsible for supporting Sales, Coverage and Business Teams in all onboarding requests and queries
  • Ensure efficient and timely opening of Investor client accounts, and managing related Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), Dodd Frank and other regulatory due diligence requirements as they arise.
  • Identify and escalate blockages in the on-boarding / maintenance processes.
  • Manage the end-to-end process to orchestrate the relevant account setups and internal approvals. 
  • Operate and manage the onboarding requests within the internal and external onboarding workflow tools

Processes

  • Working closely with Sales, Coverage and Product Partners, including Markets management, across the Markets suite of products to understand Markets’s value proposition in these areas to ensure correct prioritisation in line with client needs and requirements.
  • Ensure that accounts and data are set up to achieve full operational readiness.
  • Liaise through the value chain to ensure all units engaged in Markets Onboarding readiness successfully complete.

Risk Management

  • Support Credit Analyst in Client document follow-up and collection for accounts that need some form of Credit line.
  • Support Markets, Contracts in client documentation follow up for accounts being added to legal agreements..
  • Due Diligence required to capture all data for a new sub fund opened under an existing Investment

Governance 

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Maintain the funds team database.
  • Ensure that all systems are updated when a request is submitted to the Markets Client Onboarding team.
